Cervical Surgery - Dr Manoj Sharma Orthopedic Doctor

The most common indication of cervical surgery is cervical disc herniation followed by CSM (Cervical Spondylotic Myelopathy) other indications being fractures, infections, tumours, instability, deformities &CV Junctionanomilies.

Cervical surgery is generally done to decompressed the nerves or spinal cord and for stabilizing the spine the later will require the use of cervical plate and screws, intervertebral cages or posterior fixation in form of lateral mass screw fixation.  Rarely laminoplasty plates and interspines wires are also used.  Tumour surgery may require extensive dibritment and sacrifice using big construct for fixation of spine.

On the other hand minimally invasive spine fixation for osteoporotic vertebral fractures is performed by percutaneous balloon kyphoplasty or vertibroplasty, with or without additional pedicure screw fixation.

Radiofrequency and laser ablation of nerves is possible to control neck pain.
Endoscopic cervical disc surgery  is performed by us exclusively in Delhi.  This is the latest MIS treatment for cervical disc herniation (slip disc patients)
